Rentals

  • You have to be 25 years old and have a valid automobile drivers license and credit card to rent and drive our boats.

  • The boat shall be operated by only one person. If a person other than the renter will be operating the boat, their detailed information will have to be provided. 

  • Taxes, Fees and Fuel are extra. NYS taxes are 8%. The online convenience fee is 6%. Average cost of fuel is ~$20-$50 depending on if you tube.

  • A $200 security deposit will be charged on the day of the rental. This will be refunded minus the cost of fuel when the boat is returned in the same condition as when it left the dock.

Day of Rental

  • Please ensure everyone in your party arrives 15 minutes prior to launch time. 

  • If you arrive late, the rental will still end on time.

  • Basic instruction on operation and safety precautions will be given. This will start at the beginning of your rental and may last up to 15 minutes.

  • Everyone in the party must sign the rental agreement. A parent or guardian must sign for anyone under the age of 18.

Cancellation Policy

  • You may reschedule or cancel up to 48 hrs prior to the rental time. There will be a $30 processing fee for such changes. 

  • If notice is given within 48 hrs to the rental time you will forfeit your deposit.

  • If notice is given within 24 hrs to the rental time no refund will be issued. 

  • We will not send you out during severe weather conditions and will reschedule you

  • We will not allow cancellations due to light rain, cloudy weather, passing showers or cooler temperatures.

Terms and Conditions

  • All boats are restricted to Irondequoit Bay. 

  • $25.00 late fee assessed each 15 minutes the boat returns late.

  • $50.00 Cleaning fee for boats returned in poor condition.

  • We know they are like family, but please no pets allowed on boats

  • There are no bathrooms (heads) on board

  • By renting one of our boats, you acknowledge that boating possess various hazards which can cause serious injury, death or property damage. 

  • You must remain aware of weather, visibility, tides, current, wind and other factors which may affect your ability to navigate the vessel safely

  • You must adhere to all applicable nautical rules of the road.

  • You must take reasonable measures to avoid risk of collision with other vessels, docks, buoys, swimmers, or other objects or things, whether fixed or floating.

  • You must give the right of way to vessels under sail.

  • Beaching the boat is prohibited.

  • Operating the vessel under the influence of alcohol (0.08% and over) or other drugs is strictly prohibited.

  • NO SMOKING on the vessel at any time!

  • In the event of late return, extra cleanup required, rescue or any other losses or damage to the vessel, we will charge the credit card account indicated for the booking. In addition, we expressly reserve all other rights and remedies against you.

  • Charges for losses or damages to the boat will be calculated at Qwest Pontoons (the manufacturer) standard service & parts rates.

What To Bring - Recommendations

  • Bring a cell phone in case of an emergency(ran out of gas, medical, etc.).

  • Rain gear & seasonal clothing appropriate for expected weather conditions.

  • Sunscreen.

  • Food and drink. (note: dehydration can happen quickly in the summer heat, 2 liters of fluid per person recommended for a day on the water)

 

Boating and Fishing Laws

  • Children under 10 may not operate.

  • Youth 10 to 17 years of age may only operate a vessel under the supervision of an adult who is at least 18 years of age, OR, they may operate alone only if they have successfully completed an approved boating safety course and carry aboard their boating safety education certificate.

  • Individuals 18 years of age or older are permitted to operate a vessel without restrictions and have no requirement for taking a boating safety course.

  • New York State law requires children under 12 years of age to wear a Type I or Type II life jacket when on board any vessel less than forty feet when underway

  • If you plan on fishing the DEC requires anyone over the age of 16 to have a valid NYS fishing license.

  • A BWI (Boating While Intoxicated) conviction is a misdemeanor conviction that will result in a permanent criminal record. A boater convicted of BWI could face up to 1 year in jail, maximum fine of $1,000; and all privileges to operate a boat revoked for up to 1 year.

Code of Conduct
We ask our patrons to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful to other patrons of the marina which include minors. Should any of our patrons behave in a threatening manner, use foul language or appear visibly intoxicated or under the influence of illegal substances we reserve the right to obtain the assistance of law enforcement personnel to have you escorted out of the premises. Should our patrons display any of the above mentioned behavior we reserve the right to deny further rentals to any or all of the group in question.
